Terms of Service

What Backshelf is
Backshelf is a private, invite-only service for saving and organising your own links, resources and notes. It is in early private beta: features change, and things can break.
Your account
- An account requires a valid invite code. Each code works once.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone else.
- Tell us at hello@backshelf.eu if you think someone else has got into your account.
Your content
Whatever you save stays yours. We don't claim ownership and we don't use it for anything beyond storing it and showing it back to you.
You are responsible for what you upload. Don't store anything illegal, and don't upload material you have no right to.
Fair use
Please don't:
- try to break, overload or probe the service or its infrastructure;
- access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- automate abusive amounts of traffic;
- resell or redistribute access to Backshelf.
Accounts that do these things can be suspended or removed. If we suspend yours and it looks like an honest mistake, we'll tell you why.
Beta reality check
Backshelf is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. Backups run daily, but you should not treat Backshelf as the only copy of anything that matters to you. During the beta, features may be changed or removed.
Ending it
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time, no reason needed - see the Privacy Policy for what that removes. We may close accounts that break these terms.
Changes
These terms will change as the service grows. Meaningful changes will be reflected here with a new date at the top.
